Find Your VIN

Your VIN is the 17-character code that identifies your vehicle. Find it in one of the locations below, then use it to check for open recalls.

Start with these locations. The red callout shows exactly where to look.

1. Lower-left windshield

Stand outside the vehicle and look through the windshield at the lower-left corner of the dashboard, on the driver's side.

2. Driver-side doorjamb

Open the driver's door and check the door frame or door pillar for the vehicle information label.

3. Registration

Your VIN may also be printed on your vehicle registration.

4. Insurance card

Check your insurance card or policy documents if it is not on the vehicle.
